I am primarily a painter in oils, a medium I find luscious and beautiful, and I'm often astonished at what comes out of the end of my brush(!) whether its the way different colours vibrate against each other or how the light is falling on and around the subject - the bonus of the occasional unexpected outcomes are always a joy.

I paint and carve lino-print in my studio in Somerset here in the west of England, where I live on a rural farm with my husband John. I find inspiration in nature, friends, emotions and colour - and I use the paint to translate my feelings onto canvas every day, finding a welcome peace and meditation in carving patterns and the application of the paint - quiet passages of calm, beauty in observed cracked and peeling surfaces or the glaze of an old pot.

There is passion and life to be found everywhere and always a story waiting to be told.
